Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) naturally found in milk and produced by fermentation.
It’s larger in molecular size than glycolic acid, so it penetrates skin more slowly—making it gentler, especially for sensitive skin.
It works as a chemical exfoliant and also has hydrating properties.
